An intensive and productive visit by AICS Director Marco Riccardo Rusconi to define the agenda of the Tunis Regional Office.
Accompanied by Head of Office Isabella Lucaferri, the Director met with the local staff and the UN Country Team in Tripoli, in preparation for the full resumption of activities following the signing of the Cooperation Memorandum in October 2024. Among the various priority sectors of Italian cooperation in Libya, special attention will be given to the enhancement of cultural and archaeological heritage, including with EU funding.
In Tunisia, the Director visited the Regional Hospital of Bizerte to review the finalization of works for the expansion and renovation of the Emergency Department. The hospital, one of the main healthcare facilities in the Governorate of Bizerte, serves over 100,000 patients annually. Thanks to funding from Italian Cooperation, it will be able to improve the quality of medical services provided to its patients.
