The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), in collaboration with the Productivity and Vocational Training Department (PVTD) of the Egyptian Ministry of Industry and the Don Bosco Institute of Cairo, organized a two-day event as part of the MEPEP – Multi-Educational Programme for Employment Promotion in Migration-affected Areas, funded by the European Union.

During the event, a new Vocational Training Center was inaugurated in the 10th of Ramadan industrial district, with the participation of Egyptian institutional representatives. The official opening of SERENA Sharkeya’s Eco-Resilient Educational Area, an eco-friendly TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) facility, represents an innovative model for strengthening technical and vocational education in Egypt.

The second day featured a technical forum and the signing of public-private partnership agreements, aimed at facilitating youth employment. The MEPEP program also includes the creation of a Job Placement Office (JPO), managed by specialized personnel, to support school-to-work transition pathways.
