The system of international cooperation has been enhanced by a number of opportunities to achieve its development goals, through inclusive and sustainable projects in the target countries.
Law 125 on development cooperation fosters partnerships with private individuals, universities, and public organizations. It supports territorial cooperation between regions and municipalities and also welcomes private for-profit companies to join in the pursuit of development goals.
From managing the list of civil organizations accredited to manage projects financed by the Agency, to the promotion of the role of for-profit entities in the sphere of cooperation and development; from the organization and publication of calls for tenders for the initiatives promoted by the various cooperators, to those of education and global citizenship, the activity of the office is the heart of that multi-stakeholder system that is the structure of Italian cooperation.
Relations with financial institutions have become increasingly strategic, in particular with Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and with similar international institutions, as well as with European and international work groups, for the exploration of subjects linked to the involvement of the private sector and to financial issues related to development, especially innovative financial instruments.
