From January 15th to 19th, it took place the 17th edition of the International Cooperation Days at CIHEAM Bari. The final session had the participation of the director of AICS – Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, Marco Riccardo Rusconi, and the General Secretary of CIHEAM, Teodoro Miano, and it was coordinated by the deputy director Biagio Di Terlizzi.
In his speech, the Director of AICS Marco Riccardo Rusconi expressed appreciation for the initiative and underlined the importance of the exchange of information and experiences, of the contamination between the coordinators of the cooperation programs operating in the field. Recalling the image of Raphael’s “School of Athens” as a metaphor for international cooperation, Rusconi described the dynamic strength of a system that is projected towards new forms of cooperation also focusing on innovation and valorisation of partnerships and at the same time observes reality, reads the territory and understands the dynamics.
In this context, the collaboration of AICS with CIHEAM Bari turns out to be fundamental: “A big amount of experience”, this is the definition given by the director, “an organization that has been operating in the territories for over 60 years through cooperation projects and that has demonstrated its ability to combine the dimension of high scientific research with field operations, knowledge of the dynamics of the territory and the ability to read it and grasp its needs. A skill and experience that I hope can also be valorised for the Mattei Plan.”
