From 8 to 10 May 2024, it will be held the 41st edition of Macfrut, the Italian agrifood event that brings together the global fruit and vegetable supply chain, in the Rimini Expo Centre.
For the press conference, among others, there was the participation of the Minister of Agriculture Francesco Lollobrigida, the director of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation Marco Riccardo Rusconi, the president of the ICE Agency Matteo Zoppas and the president of the event, Renzo Piraccini.
The event brings together 1,400 exhibitors representing the entire supply chain and for this edition there will be a sustained growth in the exhibition area, as well as an increasingly defined presence of foreign subjects who represent 40% of the total, of which 400 are from the African continent.
The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation also contributed to these results, participating to the 2024 edition with thirteen foreign offices, involving managers, technicians and partners engaged in common projects that see agriculture and rural development at the base. “We operate with interventions to support small producers and local communities, strengthening them through cognitive, production process and technological innovation, aiming for inclusive economic growth. But also with projects that affect important agricultural supply chains, on a regional basis, for example coffee. For Africa we can represent an important reference, our agricultural sector has developed in a decentralized and widespread way across the territories, with a fabric made up of SMEs, therefore a credible and realistic development model for the Partners of the Continent “, declared Director Rusconi during the conference.
