The Chief of Staff of the Carabinieri, General Mario Cinque, received today, at the General Command, the Director of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, Minister Plenipotentiary Marco Riccardo Rusconi.
At the center of the cordial and fruitful meeting, attended by both delegations, was the strong determination to collaborate in the field of development cooperation, in areas of primary interest to the Agency and where the Carabinieri have undisputed expertise. These areas include the defense of the agro-forestry heritage, protection of the environment and landscape, oversight of the safety of the agri-food supply chain, protection of cultural heritage, and digitalization of infrastructures as a factor of technical evolution, development, and security. These are the sectors of potential collaboration, as already experienced in the Amazon Plus project on the protection of the Amazon rainforest, implemented by AICS with European Union funds and entrusted in its training component to the Carabinieri, who will make available the excellence of the Sabaudia center (LT).
The meeting laid the groundwork for formalizing the collaboration through a Framework Agreement, in line with the commitment to cooperation by the entire Italian System and its excellences, which the Mattei Plan has relaunched with renewed impetus.
