The Director of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), Marco Riccardo Rusconi, participated in the conference titled “From Global Health to Local Growth: Ten Years of Health Cooperation by the Tuscany Region”, an event dedicated to reflecting on and summarizing a decade of international health cooperation initiatives led by the Global Health Center.
This successful journey has positioned the Tuscan healthcare system as a premier technical partner for AICS in the field of global health, particularly due to its ability to integrate and enhance cross-sectoral and inter-institutional expertise.
In his speech, Director Rusconi emphasized the role of the Global Health Center in promoting the right to health, reducing inequalities, and building a more inclusive and advanced healthcare system. These efforts align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The collaboration among institutions, socio-health services, academia, and civil society has created a dynamic synergy that has brought innovation to the model of international health cooperation.
