During the Interministerial Table for the implementation of the National Sustainable Development Strategy, the Director of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), Marco Riccardo Rusconi, confirmed the Agency’s commitment to promoting Global Citizenship Education, recognized as an essential element for building a sustainable, fair, and inclusive world.
“Now more than ever, it is crucial to adopt a broad perspective that transcends individual territories or countries, to understand current phenomena with an awareness of their local and global interconnection and interdependence. For this reason, AICS is committed to promoting Global Citizenship Education in our country,” emphasized Director Rusconi in his speech.
In December 2023, a partnership agreement was signed between AICS and the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security (MASE), which outlines two main lines of action: one focused on promoting transformative education and awareness-raising initiatives, also involving the academic world, and the other aimed at strengthening knowledge of the Sustainable Development Strategy and the Global Citizenship Strategy through information and awareness campaigns.
