Terre des Hommes Italia and COE – Centro Orientamento Educativo strengthen their collaboration for the 34th edition of FESCAAAL – the African, Asian, and Latin American Film Festival, taking place from March 21 to 30, 2025, in Milan and streaming on MYmovies.it.

The Festival, launching on March 21 with an opening ceremony at Fondazione Prada, remains a key event in the Milanese and Italian cultural scene. With 10 days of screenings, meetings with filmmakers, and special events focused on cinema and cultures from three continents, FESCAAAL offers a unique opportunity to broaden perspectives, going beyond stereotypes through some of the best recent film productions.

This year, AICS is actively participating by supporting a special event centered on cooperation between Italy and Africa and the role of culture and education in creating opportunities for future generations.

On March 25 at 4:30 PM, at Cinema Arlecchino, a roundtable discussion supported by AICS“Italy and Africa: Culture, Education, Cooperation, and Future Perspectives”—will take place. Participants include:

  • Marco Riccardo Rusconi, Director of AICS
  • Paul-Henri Souvenir Assako, Director of the Libre Academie des Beaux-Arts in Douala
  • Debra Aroko, Filmmaker and Producer
  • Raffaele Cattaneo, Undersecretary for International and European Relations of Regione Lombardia

Following the discussion, the film Une Famille will be screened, with the presence of its director, Christian Carmosino Mereu.

Highlighting the significance of this event, Director Rusconi stated:
“For AICS, it is essential to create synergies, define shared goals, and take on a ‘common responsibility’ in promoting sustainable development, respect for human rights, and a culture of peace and non-violence—key principles of Global Citizenship Education. Our participation in the 34th edition of FESCAAAL is a valuable opportunity to highlight the role of Italian Cooperation in shaping new generations in Africa, emphasizing the connection between education, empowerment, and development.”
